Invest in dignity. Enable lasting change.
No smallholder farmer should suffer the indignity of poverty. Yet for millions of rural households, poverty persists not because of a lack of effort, but because the systems around them fail to provide fair opportunities, resilient livelihoods, and sustainable markets.
Agricultural Partnerships for Transformation exists to change this. By supporting our purpose, you help enable practical, long-term solutions that allow smallholder farmers to earn dignified incomes, strengthen resilience, and participate meaningfully in rural economies.

Why Your Support Matters
APT works at the intersection of agriculture, markets, enterprises, and systems change. This type of work requires more than project-by-project funding. It requires flexible, reliable support that allows learning, adaptation, and sustained engagement.
Your support enables APT to:
- Design and test innovative approaches, such as the Agroecological Transition Strategy (ATS), before they are ready for scale
- Maintain strong technical and facilitation capacity across programmes and districts
- Invest in learning, monitoring, and reflection, ensuring that what works is strengthened and what doesn’t is adapted
- Respond to emerging opportunities and risks in complex rural systems
- Engage credibly with government, research institutions, and the private sector
In short, support to APT strengthens the organisation’s ability to deliver lasting impact beyond the life of any single project.

What You Are Supporting
By supporting APT, you are investing in:

Dignified livelihoods
Pathways that enable smallholder farmers to earn reliable incomes, retain value from their labour, and make informed choices.

Resilient farming and enterprise systems
Approaches that reduce risk, restore natural resources, and strengthen local economies.

Learning and systems change
Evidence-led programmes that evolve over time and inform policy, practice, and scale.

Institutional capacity
A Zimbabwean organisation with more than fifteen years of experience, national reach, and deep local knowledge.
What change looks like in practice
In Mount Darwin’s Dande Valley, women-led savings groups are now operating profitable threshing and aggregation businesses. Farmers who once struggled to feed livestock through drought periods are producing high-protein fodder from locally adapted crops. Families are restoring depleted soils using affordable, locally produced fertiliser.
These are not pilot projects. They are working enterprises owned and run by farming communities, supported through APT’s Sustainable Farming Systems Programme. Support to APT enables this work to continue, deepen, and reach more households over time.
