Learning from practice, evidence, and experience

Agricultural Partnerships for Transformation generates learning through long-term engagement with farmers, enterprises, markets, and institutions across Zimbabwe. This page shares selected resources and insights drawn from that work.

Our approach is practical and evidence-led. We prioritise resources that:

  • reflect learning from implementation,
  • contribute to improved practice and policy, and
  • support partners, practitioners, and decision-makers working in similar contexts.

Stories of Change – Current Programmes

These stories document how households, groups, and local enterprises are changing through APT’s current programmes, particularly the Sustainable Farming Systems Programme (SFSP).

They highlight lived experience and outcomes such as improved incomes, resilience, agency, and dignity, and complement formal programme reporting by showing how change unfolds in practice.

From Waste to Wealth

How locally produced organic fertiliser is restoring soils and reducing input costs.

From Dirt to Dividend

How young farmers are combining mechanisation and minimum tillage to build viable farming enterprises.

Beans into Bales

How farmers are producing high-protein fodder to strengthen livestock resilience during dry seasons.

From Small Savings to Big Impact

How a women-led savings group built a viable threshing and aggregation business serving local farmers.

Stories of Change – Previous Programmes

APT has a long history of documenting learning and outcomes from earlier programmes. The stories in this section reflect experiences from previous programmes and earlier periods of APT’s work.

They are shared to illustrate learning over time and the evolution of approaches, and should be read in the context in which they were produced.

Practice & Technical Resources

APT has developed and documented a range of practical tools, technical guidance, and applied learning materials through its work with farmers, enterprises, and market actors.

These resources are intended for practitioners and partners interested in applied approaches, and may include agroecological practices, post-harvest handling and processing techniques, value-addition models, livestock feed innovations, and locally adapted technologies.

These materials are shared for learning and adaptation rather than replication.
